Main case This order shall dispose of Civil Writ Petitions No. 8937 & 8940 of 2018, as learned counsel for the parties are agreed that the issue involved in both the petitions is identical. However, the facts are being extracted from CWP No. 8937 of 2018.

Learned State counsel submitted that against the order dated 31st March, 2018 (Annexure P-6), the petitioner has approached the appellate authority and the appeal is listed for tomorrow i.e. 17th May, 2018. 4.

After hearing learned counsel for the parties, perusing the averments made in the writ petition and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the controversy, we dispose of the writ petition(s) by directing the appellate authority to decide the appeal within a period of seven days from 17.05.2018 i.e. the date fixed before the appellate authority, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners and by passing a speaking order, in accordance with law. 5.

Learned State counsel shall inform the appellate authority of this order for compliance.
