The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to amend name of his parents as well as address in his passport. 2.

The petitioner was issued passport on 08.03.2005. In the passport, detail of parents and his address was disclosed. The petitioner was alleged to be adopted by Narinder Kaur and Hardip Singh Dhaliwal. Civil Court vide judgment dated 24.04.2013 has declared adoption deed null and void. The petitioner on account of declaration of adoption deed null and void wants to add details of his biological parents. 3.

Learned counsel for Union of India submits that petitioner may be directed to appear before the passport authority alongwith requisite PARAMJIT KAUR SAINI 2023.09.15 17:17 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CWP No.19180 of 2023 -2- 2023:PHHC:121939 documents and the passport authority, thereafter, would pass an appropriate order within six weeks.

Learned counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.

In the wake of statements of both sides, the petition stands disposed of. The petitioner is directed to appear before the passport authority on 6.10.2023 alongwith requisite documents. On doing so, the passport authority would pass an appropriate order, in accordance with law, within six weeks from 6.10.2023.
