(Oral) State of Punjab has preferred this letters patent appeal against the order dated 14.05.2014 whereby learned Single Judge has merely directed them to take a final decision on the pending issue with regard to grant of benefit of age relaxation to the employees of Boards/Corporations/ autonomous bodies etc. The direction came to be issued as learned Single Judge was informed by the authorities that the matter was under active consideration.

Though the appellants have not yet taken any final decision as directed by learned Single Judge, the grievance of the writ-petitioner has been redressed as she has been given appointment as Horticulture Sub Inspector vide appointment letter dated 06.02.2015 (A-1).

LPA No.1076 of 2015 (O&M) [2] In view of the above-stated development, it appears that the instant appeal, in a way, has been rendered infructuous except to clarify that if there are some administrative difficulties in taking the policy-decision in a time bound manner, let the needful be done expeditiously. As the appointment given to the writ-petitioner is subject to such decision, the authorities will take no adverse action against her appointment without following the principles of natural justice.

The appeal stands disposed of accordingly.
