We have heard counsel for the appellant and as sufficient cause has been shown, namely, administrative exigencies, allow the application and condone delay of 591 days in filing the appeal. LPA No.1258 of 2015 The State of Haryana, challenges order dated 22.11.2013, whereby their writ petition, challenging award dated 08.02.2013, passed by the Labour Court, was dismissed.

Counsel for the State of Haryana concedes that similar appeals against similar orders/awards, have already been dismissed but states that back wages awarded to the workman were reduced from 25% to 20%, the back wages of 50% awarded in the present case may be NARESH KUMAR 2015.09.07 15:30 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh

We have heard counsel for the appellant and perused the record of other appeals but are not inclined to pass an order reducing back wages in view of the fact that in the other appeals the workman had worked with the department for six years i.e. from 1996 to 2004, whereas respondent no.1, in the present case, has worked for twenty years i.e. from 15.06.1980 to 01.02.2001.

The appeal is, consequently, dismissed.
