Counsel for the petitioner while restricting his arguments submits that the petitioner will be satisfied if necessary direction is given to the trial Court to expedite the trial, as the charges in the present case were framed on 14.05.2019 and till date prosecution is unable to examine any witness.

Mr. Gurdarshan Singh Sidhu, AAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of State and on instructions from ASI Tarvinder Singh apprised the Court that indeed the charges were framed in present case on 14.05.2019 but till date no witness has been examined on behalf of the prosecution and most of the witnesses are official witnesses and that the necessary direction would be given to the trial Court to expedite the trial. 4.
In view of the above and without commenting on the merits of the case, the present petition is hereby disposed of with direction to the learned trial Court to expedite the trial and not to grant unnecessary adjournments and to make sincere efforts to decide the case preferably within next 08 months of the next date fixed in the trial Court.
