In the nature of the order we propose to pass in this matter, no formal written statements/counter affidavits on behalf of the respondents are indeed required to be filed at this stage. Thus, the petition is being finally disposed of with the consent of learned counsel for the parties. 4.
The petitioner, who purports to have approached this Court in public interest, submits that in the month of March32017, the Government of Haryana had allocated 5,551 metric tones of Chana Dal to be distributed in 21 districts in the State among 11,10,223 eligible ration card holders. As per records 5 Kg. Channa Dal that is 2.5 Kg. each was required to be distributed amongst the eligible families for the months of February and March, 2017. CWP-PIL No. 16 of 2018 2 month of May, 2017. Further, Channa Dal was not distributed by all depot holders as few of them in connivance with the officials embezzled the stocks as a result the complaints were made to the concerned authorities, but to no avail. Not just that, the matter has been repeatedly brought to the notice of the respondents but has hardly made any tangible progress. Thus, this petition.

In response, Mr. Balyan, learned Additional Advocate General, Haryana submits that let this petition be disposed of, only with a direction to the respondents to consider and deal with the grievances raised by the petitioner in this petition. And the respondents shall consider and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law.

In the wake of the above, we dispose of this petition at this stage, only with a direction to respondent No.2 to consider and deal with the grievances of the petitioner and pass suitable orders within 8 weeks from today and if need be, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner.
