Order passed by learned Single Judge, modifying the award of the Industrial Tribunal, Patiala (for short 'the Tribunal'), vide which, in lieu of reinstatement, compensation of ` 1,25,000/- has been awarded as against ` 20,000/- awarded by the Tribunal, has been impugned in the present intracourt appeal. The appellant, in the present case, claimed that he had worked as Chowkidar from 26.10.1995 till 30.04.1998. Demand notice was issued about 5 years thereafter. Considering period the appellant had served with the Department, we do not find that the amount of compensation awarded to him is on the lesser side.
