Learned counsel submits that the husband of the petitioner, who was working as Canal Guard, had died during service on 24.05.2018 whereafter, his widow, the petitioner applied for compassionate appointment or in the alternate monthly financial assistance, within the period prescribed in terms of policy dated 02.08.2019, however the claim has yet not been decided, for which even legal notice was served on 29.01.2021, Annexure P-5. He thus, at this stage, on instructions, from the petitioner, submits that liberty would be granted to file a detailed representation, which may be directed to be decided in a time bound manner.

Learned State counsel has no objection to the limited prayer made and on instructions, submits that in case a representation is submitted within a period of 4 weeks, the same shall be decided on merits as per instructions appended, within 2 months thereafter, without taking the plea of mere pendency of the civil suit.

This satisfies the learned counsel for the petitioner. 4.

Disposed of accordingly.
