The contempt petition has been filed for deliberate and intentional disobedience of order dated 13.02.2023 passed in CWP-67152022, whereby, the following order was passed:- "Disposed of with a direction to the Block Development and Panchayat Officer concerned, to in pursuance to the demarcation report which has already been conducted at the instance of the concerned, to forthwith institute a petition under Section 7 of the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Act, 1961 before the Collector concerned. On such a petition becoming instituted, it shall be most expeditiously decided but only after hearing all the affected persons."

COCP-2671-2023 (O&M) -22.

A perusal of the above shows that direction was issued to Block Development and Panchayat Officer to institute a petition under Section 7 of the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Act, 1961. 3.

In compliance of order dated 13.02.2023 affidavit of Mr. Baghel Singh, Block Development and Panchayat Officer, Patran, District Patiala dated 23.02.2026 along with Annexure R-1/T has been filed. Copy of the same is taken on record.

Para 8 of the affidavit dated 23.02.2026, shows that petition under Section 7 of the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Act, 1961 has been instituted.

In view of the same, the contempt is purged and rule is discharged.

All the pending miscellaneous applications, if any, are also disposed of.
