*** HARSIMRAN SINGH SETHI , J. (ORAL) The grievance of the petitioner is that service which he rendered with the PSSIC, Ludhiana from 01.08.1979 till 20.10.1982 and the service rendered with the Goindwal Industries and Investment Corporation of Punjab from 21.10.1982 till 12.03.2004 has not been counted as a qualifying service for computing the pensionary benefits. Counsel for the petitioner argues that prior to the date when the petitioner was absorbed in the Local Government Department, Punjab on 12.03.2004, he had rendered service with the PSSIC, Ludhiana from 01.08.1979 till 20.10.1982 when he was transferred to the Goindwal Industries and Investment Corporation of Punjab, where he worked from 21.10.1982 till 12.03.2004. Counsel prays that a direction be issued to the respondents to grant the petitioner the benefits of the said service as a qualifying service for computing the pensionary benefits. CWP-25986-2019 -2Counsel for the petitioner states that for the relief which has been sought in the present writ petition, petitioner has served the respondents with a legal notice dated 12.04.2019 (Annexure P-5), which is still pending consideration with the respondents and the petitioner will be satisfied, at this stage, in case a time bound direction is issued to the respondents to decide the said legal notice.

In view of the request made, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the claim being made by the petitioner, the respondents are directed to decide the legal notice dated 12.04.2019 (Annexure P-5) by passing a speaking order within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. Present writ petition stands disposed of.
