Petitioner-Jagtar Singh, who is 71 years old, has filed the present writ petition for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the forest department (Punjab) to execute the Award dated 21.03.2013 (Annexure P-1), passed by the Controlling Authority, under the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972, whereby he was awarded a sum of Rs.14,712/- alongwith interest @ 9% from the date of filing of application till its actual payment.

On instructions from Mr. Sahib Singh, Forest Guard, DFO, Ropar, who is present in the Court, learned State counsel Mr. Brijesh, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab states that the relief claimed through the present writ petition has already been granted to the petitioner and therefore, the presnt petition be disposed of as the same is having been rendered infructuous.
