RAJESH BHARDWAJ, J.(ORAL) Present petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for directing respondents No.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner from the hands of private respondents who are giving threats to the petitioner and tried to attack him. It is further submitted to direct respondent No.2 to decide the representation, dated 05.08.2024, Annexure P-2, as per law.

It has been submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that for redressal of his grievances, the petitioner has already filed a representation before respondent No.2 on 05.08.2024, however, no action has been taken on the same till date.

Without entering upon an exercise to evaluate the evidentiary value of the documents placed on the file, I dispose of the petition with a direction to respondent No.2-Commissioner of Police, District Jalandhar, Punjab, to treat this petition as representation of the petitioner and decide the same expeditiously in accordance with law preferably within one month from today grant him protection, if any threat to his life and liberty is perceived. It is clarified that this order shall not be taken to grant immunity to the petitioner from legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by him.
