(ORAL) This is a writ petition that has been filed for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondents to allocate petitioners 'District Police Cadre' considering their seniority and merit, as the respondent-department has allocated 'District Police Cadre' to similarly situated persons vide order dated 23.06.2022 (Annexure P-5), who are less meritorious and junior to petitioners. It is alternatively prayed that respondents be directed to consider the representation dated 18.07.2022 (Annexure P-8) submitted by the petitioners in this regard by passing a speaking order.

Learned counsel for the petitioners herein would submit that he would be satisfied if the representation dated 18.07.2022 (Annexure P-8) submitted by the petitioners to the respondents is decided within a stipulated period by passing a speaking order. Notice of motion.
