(ORAL) This is a writ petition that has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondents to release the amount deposited by the petitioner towards Contributory Provident Fund along with interest accrued thereon. It is submitted the petitioner along with other similarly situated persons approached this Court by way of filing CWP No.1222 of 2017 titled as 'Sukhdev Singh and others Vs. State of Punjab and others praying that the petitioner is entitled to be covered under the old pension scheme and the same was decided in favour of the petitioner vide order dated 24.01.2017. It is further submitted that in pursuance of order dated 24.01.2017, petitioners requested for release of the amount which they had contributed in Contributory Pension Scheme but the same has not been released so far. In this regard, petitioner has already issued a legal notice dated 23.11.2021 (Annexure P-3) but till date, no action has been taken thereon. Notice of motion.

Without commenting on merits of the case, I dispose of the instant petition by directing the official respondents to take a decision on the legal notice dated 23.11.2021 (Annexure P-3) of the petitioner within a period of two months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order, in accordance with law and communicate the decision taken thereon to the petitioner forthwith.
