This Letters Patent Appeal is directed against the order dated 19.11.2014 whereby learned Single Judge dismissed the appellant's writ petition and has upheld the rejection of her candidature for appointment to the post of PGT (English). The ground on which the Education Department rejected appellant's candidature was that on the cut-off date her age was 40 years and six months, whereas the maximum age limit was 40 years only. [2] In the instant appeal the appellant has alleged discrimination on the ground that there is relaxation in upper age limit to the candidates to the extent of service rendered by them as teachers in school. [3] We find that somewhat similar plea was taken before a Coordinate Bench in CWP No.23099 of 2012 which was not accepted by this Court while deciding the said case on 04.12.2012. This Court made distinction between the experience in a school viz-a-viz experience in a college in the context where a candidate was being considered for appointment on a post for teaching the students in PGT at school level. [4] In the light of the said decision, we do not find any merit in this appeal, which is dismissed.
