As prayed for, the application is allowed. Copy of the speaking order dated 17.05.2025 and the petitioner's representation dated 03.06.2025 are taken on record as Annexures P-16 and P-17 respectively. CWP-25952-2019 2.
Through the present writ petition, a challenge is thrown to the order dated 26.07.2019 (Annexure P-13), passed by the Principal Secretary, Water Resources Department, Punjab, whereby the claim of the petitioner was rejected. The impugned order was passed consequent to a direction issued by this Court, vide order dated 29.05.2019, in CWP14483-2019. 3.
During the pendency of the present writ petition, the cases of similarly situated employees were considered by the department, and such employees were granted pensionary benefits.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner DEVINDER YADAV 2026.01.29 17:52 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment
CWP-25952-2019 (O&M) has submitted a fresh representation seeking consideration of his claim on parity with the similarly situated employees, who have been extended pensionary benefits.

Learned State counsel, on instructions received from the quarter concerned, informs the Court that the petitioner's representation is under active consideration by the competent authority, and that an appropriate order shall be passed thereon within a period of four weeks from today.

In view of the submission made by learned State counsel, the present writ petition is disposed of, at this stage, with a direction to the competent authority to consider and decide the petitioner's representation in accordance with law, keeping in view the relief granted to similarly situated employees, if the petitioner is found to be similarly placed. Liberty is also reserved to the petitioner to re-access this Court in case any grievance survives after the decision is taken on his representation. 7.
Disposed of accordingly.
