Present petition has been filed under Section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 for issuance of directions to official respondents to file the final report in FIR bearing No.168 dated 20.05.2021 registered under Section 420 of IPC at Police Station Division No.8, Police Commissionerate Ludhiana.

Petitioner appearing in person submitted that the present FIR was registered in the year 2021 but till date, the investigation of the same has not been concluded.

Learned State counsel, on instructions from ASP Manpreet Singh, submitted that in the present FIR, out of total 05 accused persons, 04 accused were declared innocent and one has died; the cancellation report was submitted before the Illaqa Magistrate but the same was not accepted and a direction for further investigation was given vide order dated 18.08.2025. Keeping in view the submissions made by the petitioner as well as learned State counsel that investigation is pending for about 01 year and the FIR was registered in the year 2021, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3-Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, Punjab to look into the matter and conclude the investigation of the present FIR expeditiously, preferably within a period of three months. 7.

Disposed of accordingly.
