The appellant sought a direction for payment of ex-gratia amount due to unfortunate demise of her husband, who was in service of the respondent-Bank. It appears that the deceased was served with a chargesheet, which was still pending when he unfortunately passed away. Learned Single Judge has disposed of the writ petition with a direction to the Bank to decide the appellant's claim by way of a reasoned order. While directing so, some tentative observations were made in para 5, due to which the appellant apprehends that the Bank might rely upon those observations to turn down her claim.
