The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents No. 1 to 3 to issue his passport.

The petitioner vide application dated 26.07.2023 has applied for passport. An FIR No. 68 dated 03.06.2021, under Sections 379, 427 and 34 of IPC was registered against the petitioner at Police Station, Sadar Malout, District Sri Muktsar Sahib. The police after completing investigation has filed its report, however, petitioner has entered into compromise with complainant and filed CRM-M- 32908 of 2022 before this Court seeking quashing of afore-stated FIR on the basis of compromise. Learned State counsel does not dispute the aforesaid factual position.

Learned counsel for Union of India submits that petitioner may be directed to appear before the passport authority and the passport authority, thereafter, would pass an appropriate order within six weeks. 5.

Learned counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.

In the wake of statements of both sides, the petitioner is directed to appear before the passport authority on 05.10.2023 alongwith requisite documents. On doing so, the passport authority would pass an appropriate order, in accordance with law, within six weeks from 05.10.2023. 7.

The petition stands disposed of.
