(Oral) The present petition has been filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C. for issuance of direction to respondent Nos.3 and 4 to comply with provisions of Section 35 and 179 of BNSS 2023 (Section 41-A read with Section 160 of Cr.P.C) and not to harass and call the petitioners to police station without any reasons and also in view of law laid down by Hon'ble Supreme Court in case reported 2009(3) RCR 792 and 2014 (3) RCR 527 titled Arnesh Kumar Vs. State of Bihar and Another and Savitri Aggarwal & Others Vs. State of Maharashtra to give atleast 07 days advance notice for joining any enquiry proceedings and in event of registration of case against the petitioners, as the police has been harassing and threatening petitioners to involve them in some false case and further seeking protection of life and liberty of the petitioners. After arguing for sometime, learned counsel for the petitioners contends that they would be satisfied in case their representation dated 06.07.2025 (Annexure P-1) be decided in a time bound manner. 3.

On asking of the Court, Mr. Kamalpreet Bawa, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents. 5.
Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the case and the prayer made by the counsel for the petitioner and further without commenting upon the merits of the case, the respondent No.2-Director General of Police, Punjab, Chandigarh, is directed to decide the representation dated 06.07.2025 (Annexure P1) by passing a speaking order, within a period of four weeks from the date of passing of this order.
