(ORAL) The petitioners herein seek issuance of a mandamus to the respondents directing them to grant benefit of seniority, pay scale, pay fixation and consequential benefits with effect from the date similarly situated Male Constable (Drivers) were appointed in the District Police Cadre of Punjab Police vide Advertisement No.2 dated 15.10.2016 as well as granting salary in the pay band of Rs.10,300-34,800+3200 and other allowances and other service benefits as admissible to them in terms of advertisement dated 15.10.2016.

Counsel for the petitioners would submit that apart from various representations, petitioners have issued legal notice dated 03.06.2022 (Annexure P-13) to the respondents in this regard but no action has been taken so far and they would be satisfied if the legal notice dated 03.06.2022 is decided by the respondents within a stipulated period. Notice of motion.

Ms. Deepali Puri, Addl. Without commenting on merits of the case, I dispose of the instant petition by directing the official respondents to take a decision on the legal notice dated 03.06.2022 (Annexure P-13) of the petitioners within a period of three months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order, in accordance with law by passing a speaking order, which shall be communicated to the petitioners forthwith.
