Mr. Mohit Kapoor, Additional Advocate General, Punjab. MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (ORAL) Petitioner is seeking the concession of anticipatory bail under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 in case FIR No.30 dated 23.04.2021 under Sections 61, 69, 78 of the Punjab Excice Act, registered at Police Station Khanauri, District Sangrur.

Learned State counsel at the outset has opposed the prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioner for extending the extraordinary concession of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Learned State counsel, on instructions, has reiterated that the petitioner is a man of criminal antecedents as he is involved in 13 other criminal cases.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has not been able to controvert about the criminal antecedents of the petitioner, though he submits that in seven cases, which were registered against the petitioner, he has since been acquitted.

Be that as it may, a secret information was received qua the involvement of the petitioner and co-accused in the sale of liquor PUNEET SACHDEVA 2024.02.06 10:07 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document.

CRM-M-43971-2023 -2in Punjab, even though it was meant for sale only in the State of Haryana. Besides this, the petitioner admittedly has criminal antecedents, for which he does not deserve to be extended the extraordinary concession of anticipatory bail. 5.

The instant petition stands dismissed.
