RAJESH BHARDWAJ, J.(ORAL) Petitioners have approached this Court praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus to respondents No.1 to 5 for demarcation of the Gairmumkin Rasta (passage) bearing Khasra No.97 as per Jamabandi for the year 2017-2018 of village Dhaliwal Vas Jakhepal, Tehsil Sunam, District Sangrur, which is used for the common purpose for the villager and the petitioners to go to their fields and also issue the directions to remove the unauthorised encroachment/possession of private respondents No.6 and 7 over the above passage and to take the action upon the representation, Annexures P-10 to P-12.

It has been contended by counsel for the petitioner that representation, Annexure P-10, was filed by the petitioner before respondent No.2, on 31.03.2023 but no decision has been taken on the same till date. Notice of motion to official respondents only at this stage. On asking of the Court, Ms.Akshita Chauhan, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the MEENU 2023.09.06 13:29 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this order/judgment

After hearing counsel for the parties and going through the facts and circumstances of the case, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2, i.e. Deputy Commissioner, Sangrur, to decide the representation, dated 31.03.2023, Annexure P-10, expeditiously in accordance with law preferably within one month from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
