MANJARI NEHRU KAUL , J. (ORAL) The petitioners are seeking issuance of directions to the official respondents to take legal action on complaint/representation dated 25.07.2023 (Annexure P-6) and register an FIR against respondents No.5 to 8, who have duped the petitioners and committed a fraud to the tune of `7,50,000/-.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that a representation was given on 25.07.2023 (Annexure P-6) to the police authorities, however, it had failed to yield any response. It has been submitted that the official respondents were under a legal obligation to pass an appropriate order on his complaint.

Notice of motion to official respondents only. On asking of the Court, Mr. Inderpal Singh Sabharwal, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents.

CRM-M-44095-2023 -2Commissioner of Police, Police Commissionerate, Ludhiana, is directed to look into the grievance of the petitioners and take appropriate steps, if any required, under the provisions of law. However, if respondent No.3 does not find any substance in the allegations levelled in the representation dated 25.07.2023 (Annexure P-6), then the petitioners shall be duly informed as per the parameters laid down by the Supreme Court in Lalita Kumari v. Government of Uttar Pradesh & Ors. 2013 (4) RCR (Criminal) 979.
