By filing the appeal, the landowner is seeking enhancement of compensation for the acquired land.

Briefly, the facts of the case are that the State of Punjab vide notification dated 12.11.1992, issued under Section 4 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (for short, 'the Act'), sought to acquire land in the revenue estate of village Mandauli, Tehsil Rajpura, District Patiala (now Mohali), for setting up of residential Urban Estate. It was followed by notification under Section 6 of the Act. The Land Acquisition Collector (for short, 'the Collector') vide award No.453 dated 22.9.1995 assessed the market value of the acquired land. Dissatisfied with the award of the Collector, the land owner filed objections. On reference under Section 18 of the Act, the learned court below vide award dated 8.8.2013 assessed the market value of the acquired land @ ` 7,80,000/- per acre. It is this award which has been impugned in the present appeal.

Learned counsel for the landowner submitted that the issues raised in the present appeal are squarely covered by the judgment of Hon'ble the Supreme Court in Civil Appeal No. 331 of 2014 --Paramjit Panag and SHARMILA 2015.11.18 16:11 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document.

For the reasons recorded in Paramjit Panag's case (supra), the appeal is disposed of in the same terms.
