This intra Court appeal challenges the order dated 28.03.2016 whereby learned Single Judge has turned down the appellant's claim for appointment on compassionate ground under the ex-gratia scheme. The facts are to the following effect. The father of the appellant was serving as an auto mechanic in the respondent-Corporation when he unfortunately died in harness on 31.12.1986. The appellant was 14 years old at that time. His mother applied for appointment on compassionate ground but that request was rejected on 30.09.1996. Thereafter a legal notice was served on 02.08.2002, followed by a writ petition in the year 2003 and pursuant to the directions issued by this Court, the said claim was again rejected. LPA-917-2016 (O&M) -2relief. As the facts speak for themselves, none of the factors relevant for accepting the claim for appointment on compassionate ground, namely, to tide over the financial crisis to which the family is suddenly put into, are no longer in existence after such a long span.

No interference in the order passed by learned Single Judge, thus, is called for.

Dismissed.

However, if the appellant or his family is entitled to any lump sum monetary assistance under the Government policy/ Rules, we direct the respondent-authorities to verify such claim and determine it by way of a reasoned order within four months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
