The present petition has been filed under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in FIR No.182 dated 26.08.2019 registered under Sections 406, 498-A of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 at Police Station Lopoke, District Amritsar Rural.

On 26.09.2019 the following order was passed : "Mr. Prateek Sodhi, Advocate has appeared on behalf of complainant-Harpreet Kaur and filed memo of appearance. The same is taken on record. Power of

-2attorney be filed in the Registry by the next date of hearing.

Both the learned counsels have represented that there are chances of amicable settlement amongst the parties.

The parties are directed to be present in person before the Mediation and Conciliation Centre, Punjab and Haryana High Court on 17.10.2019.

The petitioner shall pay an amount of Rs.25,000/- to complainant-Harpreet Kaur towards travelling, miscellaneous, litigation expenses, upon her appearance before the Mediator on the said date.

Meanwhile, in the event of arrest, the petitioner be released on interim bail subject to his furnishing personal bonds and surety bonds to the satisfaction of Arresting/Investigating Officer. However, the petitioner shall join the investigation as and when called upon to do so and cooperate with the Arresting/Investigating Officer and shall abide by the conditions as provided under Section 438 (2) Cr.P.C.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would contend that after passing of the said order the parties have twice appeared before Mediation and Conciliation Centre of this Court, however, they have failed to arrive at any amicable settlement. Learned counsel would further contend that the petitioner has since joined investigation and has fully cooperated. 4.

Learned counsel for the State, on instructions from ASI Mukhtiar Singh, states that the petitioner has since joined investigation and is fully co-operating and that he is no longer required for further custodial interrogation as of now.

In view of the above, the order dated 26.09.2019 is made absolute. The petitioner shall, however, join investigation as and when called for. The petitioner shall also abide by all the terms and conditions as specified under Section 438(2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973. 6.

Disposed off accordingly. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed off.
