7 is abundantly clear that the marriage between the parties has broken down irretrievably and there are no chances of their living together again. Undoubtedly, the irretrievable break down of marriage is not a ground for divorce under Section 13 of the Act. However, the Hon'ble Apex Court in a catena of decisions while dealing with the facts and circumstances of individual cases has observed that when there is no possibility of resumption of normal marital life by the spouses and marriage between them has irretrievably broken down, a decree of divorce should be granted. No doubt, it is obligation of the Court that marital status should as far as possible be maintained but when the marriage is totally dead, in that event nothing is
