This is a Civil Writ Petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to regularize the services of the petitioners in view of Resolution No.212 dated 24.12.2016 (Annexure P3) passed by respondent No.4-Municipal Council, Roopnagar. Learned counsel for the petitioners would contend that in regard to the relief claimed in the writ petition, a Legal Notice dated 30.10.2021 (Annexure P-9) has already been served upon the respondents, however, till date, no response has been received qua the same. Learned counsel for the petitioners' states that at this stage he limits his prayer and would be satisfied if a direction is issued to respondent No.4 to decide the said Legal Notice dated 30.10.2021 (Annexure P-9) in a time-bound manner.

AG Punjab and Mr. Sanjeev Soni, Advocate, who have joined the proceedings through video conferencing, accept notice on behalf of respondent Nos.1 and 2 and for respondent Nos.3 to 5, respectively. Learned counsel for the respondents have stated that they have no objection if the present petition is disposed off with a direction to take a time-bound decision on the Legal Notice dated 30.10.2021 (Annexure P-9).

In view of the limited prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioners and without commenting on the merits of the case, the present writ petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.4 to take a decision on the Legal Notice dated 30.10.2021 (Annexure P-9) in accordance with law expeditiously and, in any case, within a period of three months from the receipt of a certified copy of this order. Disposed off accordingly.
