***** KARAMJIT SINGH , J. (Oral) Petitioner No.1 got married with respondent No.4-Balwinder but respondent No.4 used to ill-treat petitioner No.1, on this petitioner No.1 started living with petitioner No.2 and now both the petitioners are in live-in relationship.

Counsel for the petitioners submits that the aforesaid private respondents have threatened to cause harm to both the petitioners and in this regard, representation (Annexure P-3) was given on 4.10.2022 to respondent No.2 but till date no action has been taken by the concerned authorities in this regard.

( 2 ) CRWP-9796-2022 Notice of motion.

Mr. Jaspal Singh Guru, AAG, accepts notice on behalf of the State of Punjab. He submits that the concerned authority will look into the matter and take decision on the representation of the petitioners in accordance with law.

In view of above, without going into merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with direction to respondent No.2 to consider representation (Annexure P-3) and to provide appropriate protection to the petitioners if so warranted. However, any observations made in this order will not be construed as an expression of opinion on the relationship between the petitioners.

Respondents No.4 to 9 are at liberty to avail appropriate legal remedy against the petitioners.

In case the petitioners have committed any offence, the law will take its own course.
