By way of instant petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, petitioner has approached this Court inter-alia for issuance of a writ, in the nature of mandamus, directing official respondents No.1 to 3 to complete the link road project 'Shaheed Sipahy Jagseer Singh' from village Lohgarh to purchase centre, Ratta Khera Badni Gulab Singh, District Ferozepur, which was sanctioned vide letter dated 22.09.2020, Annexure P-1.

Ms. Raina Godara, Advocate, Mr. Abhimanyu Balyan and Mr. Vikas Bairagi, Advocate have put in appearance on behalf of respondent No.6 and have filed Vakalatnama, which is taken on record. 3.

In response to the notice issued by this Court, short replies have been filed, wherein it has been stated that 85% of the link road project has been completed and remaining work has come to a halt as land has been illegally occupied by some residents. In his affidavit, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur has stated that a petition under Section 7 of the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Act, 1961 has been filed before the Collector, Ferozepur, which is pending.

Keeping in view the fact that major portion of the work has been completed, writ petition is disposed of. It is directed that eviction petition bearing No.197/VC, which is pending before the Collector, Ferozepur, be decided on or before 30.06.2026.
