Learned counsel submits that the similarly circumstanced employees have been granted the said benefit by way of passing speaking order dated 06.12.2023, Annexure P-5, based on the judgment dated 16.09.2022 passed in LPA-1853-2018 titled as State of Punjab and Others vs. Sunil Kumar Sharma and Others, Annexure P-4, thus, the petitioners have served a legal notice dated 20.03.2025, Annexure P-6 seeking the same relief, however, it has yet not evoked any response. He thus, on instructions prays that a direction may be given to the respondents to decide the same in a time bound manner. 3.
Learned State counsel has no objection to the limited prayer made. 4. In view of the above and without commenting on the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondents to MOHIT 2025.07.24 16:01 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CWP-20960-2025 (O&M) -2decide the legal notice dated 20.03.2025, taking note of the aforesaid judgment and speaking order dated 06.12.2023, within a period of 6 months, which this Court has no reason to believe the authorities would not address in a just, fair and reasonable manner. Upon doing so, after notice and hearing offered to them and if found entitled, grant the benefit forthwith. Needless to say, if the orders are adverse to their interest, the same shall contain reasons and the petitioners shall be free to seek legal redress thereupon.
