The petitioner has filed this writ petition claiming compassionate appointment and submits that the petitioner is a married daughter and is entitled for compassionate appointment. 2.

This Court finds that the petitioner's father expired on 06.11.2019, whereafter an application was submitted by the brother of the petitioner seeking compassionate appointment, the same was considered and appointment to the post of Sub Inspector was offered to her, but she did not appear for physical trial and has thereafter left for America and is now an NRI. Now, the petitioner is seeking compassionate appointment. 3.

The purpose of granting compassionate appointment is to immediately provide benefit to a family where the earning member dies in harness. In the present case, this Court finds that the circumstances are otherwise as earlier offer was made to the petitioner's brother and at that time, the petitioner had not applied for compassionate appointment. Once that offer was made to the brother of the petitioner, the duty of the State RAJESH KUMAR 2023.09.28 13:37 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment. Government is over and if the concerned person does not accept the offer and chooses not to take compassionate appointment, nothing further can be done in the matter. The window of seeking compassionate appointment closes thereafter.

The writ petition is wholly misconceived and is accordingly dismissed.
