**** RAJ MOHAN SINGH, J. (Oral) Petitioners have preferred this writ petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of an appropriate writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No.2 to 4 to take appropriate action for protecting lives and personal liberties of the petitioners from being invaded by respondent No.5.

Respondent No.5 is son-in-law of petitioner No.1 and brother-in-law of petitioner No.2. Daughter of petitioner No.1 is married to respondent No.5.

With reference to facts pleaded in the present petition, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners feel reasonable apprehension qua their lives and JYOTI SHARMA 2021.12.15 18:21 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP No. 25454 of 2021 -2personal liberties at the hands of respondent No.5 who is an influential person and is having his eyes on the properties of the petitioners. He is also involved in one criminal case bearing FIR No.103 dated 20.10.2017 under Sections 420, 465, 468, 471, 120-B IPC registered at Police Station Dera Baba Nanak. Precisely, for the grievance in question, the petitioners have already approached respondent No.3 by way of representation dated 07.08.2020.

Notice of motion.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. T.P.S. Chawla, D.A.G., Punjab accept notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 4.

In view of nature of order which this Court proposes to pass, there is no necessity of calling upon any response from the respondents as no order prejudicial to interest of any party is being passed.

This writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 to take note of pending representation of the petitioners and decide the same in accordance with law, preferably within a period of one month from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
