Prayer in the present petition is for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus for directing respondent Nos. 2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and her family members from the hands of private respondent Nos. 4 to 12.

It has been submitted that the son of the petitioner Nishan Singh has married with one Nirmal Kaur, against the wishes of private respondent i.e. the family members of a girl Nirmal Kaur. He submits that Nishan Singh and Nirmal Kaur had earlier approached this Court by way of filing of CRWP7573-2025, titled as "Nirmal Kaur and Another Vs. State of Punjab and Others", which was disposed of vide order dated 16.07.2025 by this Court with a direction to Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur to decide the representation dated 09.07.2025 filed by them and grant them protection, if any threat to their life and liberty is perceived. 3.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner has no concerned with the marriage done by her son, despite that, she is being threatened by the private respondents. CRWP-7988-2025 (O&M) -2police officials also raided her house and threatened the petitioner. It is submitted that in this regard she has filed a representation dated 21.07.2025 (Annexure P-2) to respondent No.2 for granting protection to her life and liberty.

Mr. Raj Karan Singh AAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the State.

After hearing learned counsel for the parties, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent no.2 i.e. Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur, to decide the representation dated 21.07.2025 (Annexure P2) filed by the petitioner in accordance with law within a period of one month from today and grant immediate protection, if any threat to the life and liberty of the petitioner, is perceived. It is being clarified that this order shall not be taken to grant immunity to the petitioner for legal action for violation of law, if any committed by him.
