At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that let this petition be disposed of only with a direction to respondent No.2 - Senior Superintendent of Police, Gurdaspur to consider and decide the representation dated 29.09.2022 (Annexure P-5) alleged to have been submitted by the petitioners seeking protection for their lives along with their families.

Accordingly, without commenting upon the merits of the claim of the petitioner and even the assertions set out in the petition, the present petition is disposed of only with a direction to respondent No.2 that if any such representation, as indicated above, is indeed pending consideration, it shall be dealt with expeditiously, in accordance with law by passing a speaking order, preferably within six weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order and conveying the same to the petitioners.
