(oral) As per the short reply filed by respondent No.1/State, respondent No.2 had submitted a sworn affidavit before the investigating agency to the effect that she has performed marriage with the petitioner and is happily living with him as his wife. He further, on instructions from ASI-Balkar Singh who is present in the Court, has submitted that cancellation report has since been presented before the concerned Court and hearing in the same, is fixed for 09.12.2023. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that petition may be disposed of in the wake of this position.

In view of the submissions so made by learned State counsel, the present petition is being disposed of as having been rendered infructuous. However, the petitioner will be at liberty to avail appropriate remedy if so required in future.
