***** HARSH BUNGER J. (ORAL) Prayer in the instant writ petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of a writ in the nature of Certiorari for setting aside the action of the respondents, whereby the application filed by the petitioner for re-issuance of the passport by correcting her date of birth was declined.

1.1 A further prayer has been made in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to re-issue the passport of the petitioner with her correct date of birth as 21.06.1963.

Today, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondentsUnion of India informs the Court that presently no application for reissuance of the passport of the petitioner is pending before the passport authority. However, he submits that in case the petitioner submits a fresh application for re-issuance of passport duly with his correct date of birth, supported by requisite information as well as supporting documents, the DINESH 2026.05.27 13:03 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP-21222-2025 (O&M) -2same would be considered and appropriate order shall be passed thereon, in accordance with law and by considering the observations made by this Court in case of "Ajay Bhola vs. Union of India and others" CWP-10188-2025 (decided on 12.12.2025), within a period of eight weeks from the date when such fresh application is submitted by the petitioner. 3.

Keeping in view the aforesaid stand taken by learned counsel for the respondents-Union of India, no further order is required to be passed in the present writ petition and the same is disposed of accordingly. 4.
