RAJESH BHARDWAJ, J.(ORAL) Petitioner has approached this Court praying for issuance of direction to official respondents to take appropriate legal action against private respondents No.9 to 12 who have illegally embezzled the grant of Rs.87,00,000/-, issued by the Punjab Government/Central Government to the Gram Panchayat, village Ranian Tehsil Ajnala, District Amritsar. It is further prayed to issue direction to official respondents to decide the representation, dated 05.04.2022, Annexure P-2. It has been contended by counsel for the petitioner that representation, Annexure P-2, has already been filed by the petitioner before different authorities, on 05.04.2022 but no decision has been taken on the same till date.

Notice of motion to official respondents only at this stage. On asking of the Court, Ms.Akshita Chauhan, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the MEENU 2023.09.14 13:55 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this order/judgment

CWP-20121-2023 -2respondents/State and submits that enquiry against respondent No.9-Surjit Singh is already pending before the DDPO and the same would be concluded expeditiously.

In view of the statement made by learned State counsel, it is apparent that in response to the prayer made by the petitioner, enquiry has already been initiated by the State, which is pending before the DDPO. Hence, no direction is required to be given, as prayed for by the petitioner. The petition is disposed of. However, it is directed that the enquiry, which is already pending before the DDPO, be concluded expeditiously preferably within two months from today.
