The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of direction to the respondent Nos.1 to 6 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner at the hands of respondent Nos.7 to 12 and other unkown persons.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would be satisfied if a direction is issued to respondent No.4 to decide his representation dated 02.09.2023, Annexure P-1 submitted by him. The receipt of the said representation is annexed with this petition. 3.

Notice of motion.

Ms. Himani Arora, AAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State and has no objection to the limited prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioner.

In view of the limited prayer made by the petitioner and without commenting upon the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondent No.4 to look into the representation of the petitioner dated 02.09.2023, Annexure P-1 and if any threat perception is found, to take appropriate action in accordance with law Ankur Goyal 2023.09.12 19:17 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this order/judgment

It is however, made clear that this order shall not preclude the authorities to proceed against the petitioner, in case, he is found involved in any other criminal proceedings, instituted/pending against him if there is some evidence that surfaces regarding his involvement in a cognizable offence, for which he may be required by the investigating agency.
