**** ALOK JAIN, J. (Oral) Prayer is for grant of anticipatory bail in case FIR No.276 dated 23.09.2022, under Section 498-A, 406 and 34 IPC, registered at Police Station Civil Lines Batala, Police District Batala, District Gurdaspur. Status report by way of an affidavit of Lalit Kumar, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub-Division City Batala, District Batala, has been filed by learned State Counsel on behalf of respondent No.1-State, which is taken on record. Copy thereof supplied to learned counsel for the petitioner in Court today itself.

Vide order dated 14.10.2022, this Court while granting the concession of interim anticipatory bail directed the petitioner to join investigation.

-2CRM-M-47060-2022 Parties were also directed to appear before the Mediation and Conciliation Centre for an amicable settlement, however, vide report dated 16.11.2022, it has been submitted that the parties could not arrive at any amicable settlement.

Learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Harpal Singh, states that the petitioner has joined the investigation and his custodial interrogation is no longer required.

In view of above, the petition is allowed. The order dated 14.10.2022 granting interim anticipatory bail to the petitioner, is made absolute. However, the petitioner shall join the investigation as and when called upon to do so by the Investigating Agency and shall abide by the conditions of Section 438 (2) Cr.P.C.
