Grewal, J.(Oral) The present petition has been filed under Section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (for short-'BNSS') for quashing of FIR No.18 dated 11.01.2024 under Sections 406,420 IPC and under Sections 10 and 24 of Immigration Act, 1983 registered at Police Station Kurukshetra University, District Kurukshetra and all the subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise dated 18.06.2025 (Annexure P-2). 2.

Notice of motion.

Mr. Tapan Masta, Addl. Advocate General, Haryana accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State.

Learned State counsel states that no other FIR has been registered against the petitioners and they have no criminal antecedents.

Mr. Gautam Kumar, Advocate appears and filed his Vakalatnama on behalf of respondent No.2 in the Court today and the same is taken on

CRM-M-40054-2025 -2record. He confirms the factum of the compromise having been effected between the parties and states that respondent No. 2 has no objection to the quashing of the FIR in question.

I have heard the submissions made by the learned counsel for the parties and gone through the record.

In that view of the matter, even if this case is taken to its logical conclusion, it would only be an exercise in futility as the parties have already amicably settled their differences. Therefore, no purpose would be served in wasting the time and resources of the State in pursuing this case to its pre-ordained end. It would, therefore, be better to give a quietus to the issue at this stage.

Accordingly, the petition is allowed and FIR No.18 dated 11.01.2024 under Sections 406,420 IPC and under Sections 10 and 24 of Immigration Act registered at Police Station Kurukshetra University, District Kurukshetra and all the subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise dated 18.06.2025 (Annexure P-2) shall stand quashed qua the petitioners subject to payment of Rs.5,000/- each as costs to be paid to the High Court Legal Services Committee.
