The present petition has been filed inter alia praying for protection of life and liberty of the petitioner at the hands of respondents No. 4 & 5.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that a civil dispute is going on between the petitioner and respondents No. 4 & 5, who are his brother and Bhabhi.

Admittedly, a civil revision bearing No. CR-2426-2022 is pending before this Court and learned counsel for the petitioner submits that on 23.08.2023, some unknown persons armed with deadly weapons entered his house and gave beatings to the petitioner and his wife and threatened his family members and pressurized him to withdraw the civil suit as well as the civil revision pending against respondent No. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner has further submitted that the representation was also moved to Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur on 23.08.2023 (Annexure P-1) but the same has also not been looked into.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner at length. 6.

There is no proof of submission of the said representation on 23.08.2023 to the SSP's office and moreso, there is no clear cut threat given to the petitioner by any of the respondents.

The petitioner is well within his rights to pursue his legal remedies, which are civil in nature and this petition being devoid of any merit and any cogent threat perception detailed herein deserves to be dismissed.

In light of the above, the present petition stands dismissed without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case.
