(ORAL) Prayer in this criminal writ petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus, directing the official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner at the hands of private respondents as well as for initiating appropriate legal action against them, under the appropriate provisions of law.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that at this stage, he would be satisfied if direction is issued to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Gurdaspur, to consider and take a final decision on representations dated 21.07.2023 and 04.09.2023 (Annexure P-1 and P-2, respectively) made by the petitioner in a time bound manner.
