Petitioner No.1-Nisha aged 25 years wife of respondent No.4-Sham Lal and petitioner No.2-Akshay Choudhary aged 24 years with whom petitioner No.1 is stated to be residing, have approached this Court seeking issuance of a directions to official respondents to protect their lives and liberty as they apprehend threat to the same at the hands of private respondents No.4 to 6. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that although petitioner No.1 is married to respondent No.4 but she had been married when she was barely 12-13 years of age and that respondent No.4 had, however, been illtreating her under influence of liquor and on account of which she had left PANKAJ KAKKAR 2021.12.16 14:57 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

( 2 ) CRWP-11814-2021 (O&M) her matrimonial home and had also approached the Courts seeking dissolution of her marriage. It has been submitted that petitioner No.1 has taken shelter with petitioner No.2, which is irking respondent No.4 and other private respondents. It has further been submitted that although a representation dated 6.12.2021 (Annexure P-4) had been moved but to no avail.

Without commenting as regards the veracity of the averments made in the petition and also as regards the sanctity of alleged relationship of the petitioners, the petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.2Superintendent of Police, District Panipat to look into the matter and to dispose off the representation dated 6.12.2021 (Annexure P-4) in accordance with law. In case, it is found that there is a genuine threat to the lives and liberty of the petitioners, then necessary steps warranted under law be taken thereupon at the earliest so as to ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioners.

A copy of this order alongwith copy of the representation dated 6.12.2021 (Annexure P-4) be sent to respondent No.2-Superintendent of Police, District Panipat so as to enable him to do the needful expeditiously. 5.

It is, however, clarified that the aforesaid order shall not be taken to be any expression as regards the alleged relationship of the petitioners and shall not confer any immunity upon the petitioners, in case it is found that they have committed any wrong.
