The present petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for issuance of direction to respondent Nos.1 to 4 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners and their family members at the hands of respondents No.5 to 8. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners would be satisfied if a direction is issued to respondent No.2 to decide their representation dated 08.09.2023, Annexure P-1 submitted by them. The receipt of the said representation is annexed with this petition. 3.

Notice of motion.

Ms. Himani Arora, AAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents-State and has no objection to the limited prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioner.

In view of the limited prayer made by the petitioners and without commenting upon the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to look into the representation of the petitioners dated 08.09.2023, Annexure P-1 and if any threat perception is found, to take appropriate action in accordance with law.

It is however, made clear that this order shall not preclude the authorities to proceed against the petitioners, in case, they are found involved in any other criminal proceedings, instituted/pending against them if there is some evidence that surfaces regarding them involvement in a cognizable offence, for which they may be required by the investigating agency.
