[1] The matter is taken up for hearing through video conference due to COVID-19 situation.
[2] This petition was filed for issuance of directions to the official respondents No. 2 and 3 for protection of life and liberty of the petitioners from the private respondents arrayed in the petition. [3] As per the pleadings, the petitioners had performed marriage against the wishes of their parents and there was a threat perception.
[4] On 13th December, 2021, following order was passed:- "Notice of motion to respondents No.1 to 3 only at this stage.

In the meantime, the police officials not below the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police should record the statements of the petitioners.
In case a request is made by the petitioners, they may be provided shelter in safe house till the next date." [5] Learned State counsel has sent through electronic medium statements of petitioner No.1 recorded by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Fazilka, print out of the same is taken on record. As per the statement filed, there is no threat perception and petitioners do not need any police protection.
[6] In view of statement filed, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that no cause of action survives for pursuing the present petition.
[7] Disposed of as infructuous.
