(ORAL) This petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus directing official respondents to get the dentenues, mentioned in para No. 3 of the petition, released from the illegal detention of private respondents. Vide order dated 23.9.2019, District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana-respondent No. 2 was directed to ensure that the premises of respondents No. 4 and 5 are raided and if the persons whose names are mentioned in para 3 of the petition, are found to be illegally detained against their wishes, they be got immediately released and further action be taken as per law.

Status report by way of affidavit of Sukhnaaz Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub Divisional Raikot, Ludhiana (Rural) has been filed which is taken on record. As per the status report, Sumit Kumar-Clerk was present at the brick-kiln whereas the owner namely Sunil Chhabra was GURPREET SINGH 2020.01.30 10:42 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document chandigarh

CRWP No. 839 of 2019 -2not present. Sumit Kumar got recorded his statement with ASI Buta Singh to the effect that no person namely Vinod has been working at the said brick-kiln and no persons, mentioned in the petition, were detained in the brick-kiln.

Keeping in view the above, no further orders are required to be passed.

The petition stands disposed of as such.
