Learned counsel for the petitioners confines his submissions only for grant of protection to the life and liberty of petitioners. He further submits that the petitioners have been involved in one case after another by the police and respondents no.3 to 5 are posing threat to their life and liberty.

Without expressing any opinion on merits, this petition is disposed of with direction to the Commissioner of Police, Jallandhar to look into the grievance of petitioners qua threat to their life and liberty, verify the same and take appropriate action in accordance with law. However, it is made clear that the above order will not be interpreted as providing protection to petitioners from any action taken in any civil, criminal or any other proceedings initiated/pending against them in accordance with law.
