The present petition has been filed for directions to the respondents No.2 and 3 to protect his life and liberty viz-a-viz of his family members, from the respondents No. 6 to 9.

Notice of motion to the respondents No.1 to 5 only. 3.

Since advance notice has already been served upon the State, Mr. Eklavya Darshi, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents No.1 to 5 and waives service. 4.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the private respondents are threatening the petitioner and his family members as he sought information under the Right to Information Act, 2005, regarding misappropriating the governments funds by them. With regard to above said grievance, the petitioner has also filed representations dated 22.01.2025 (Annexures P1 and P2), but no action has yet been taken by the authorities DEEPAK KUMAR BHARDWAJ 2025.08.20 18:34 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document concerned. The learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that a

Criminal Writ Petition No. 8882 of 2025 direction for disposing of the representations (Annexures P1 and P2) be given to the concerned authorities and the instant writ petition be disposed of.

Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, the present writ petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.2 to pass a speaking order and decide the representation of the petitioner (Annexure P1), as per law, within a period of 15 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

It is, however, made clear that no finding with regard to merits of the allegations is being recorded vide instant order, and the police authorities shall be at liberty to take an independent decision with regard to contents of the representation.
